Learn about the tragic forced removals of the community of Die Vlakte that took place under the Apartheid government.
This informative tour tells the story of the decline of race relations in Stellenbosch in the 1940s, the reality of Apartheid laws and the forced removal of 3 700 people in Die Vlakte in 1964. The tour is led by local guides, who tell the stories of the many lives, schools, churches and businesses affected by this historical injustice. The route is circular and starts and ends at the Co-Create Hub.
